For conservatives looking to counter the Trump indictments, indicting failed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is a good start
Despite the poor track record of Congressional Republicans recently, the impeachment of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas is the first logical step to fixing the border crisis. It’s highly unlikely the Republican Party can whip the votes necessary to convict him in the Senate, but it would lay the groundwork for further legal proceedings on the state level. Thankfully, House Republicans announced that impeachment proceedings were underway this month, as up to 10,000 illegal aliens are crossing the border every day with no signs of stopping.
“Our investigation made clear that this crisis finds its foundation in Secretary Mayorkas’ decision-making and refusal to enforce the laws passed by Congress, and that his failure to fulfill his oath of office demands accountability,” said House Homeland Security Committee chairman Mark Green.
Republicans can now hold further border hearings, issue more subpoenas, and hear from those directly affected by the crisis like ordinary citizens in Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, and Midwestern states, where the Biden administration is dumping migrants like cattle.
First Impeach…
Rep. Jim Jordan (R–OH), who serves as chairman of the Judiciary Committee, already issued a subpoena to Mayorkas last month, for records regarding illegals who’d been charged with “serious” crimes before they were released into the U.S.
Specifically, those who committed assault, theft, murder and terror related activities. Jordan then subpoenaed Mayorkas himself, due to the agency stalling on the request.
In 2022, it was confirmed that Mayorkas had discussed plans to take healthcare services away from American veterans who are treated through the Veterans Affairs office and give healthcare coverage to illegal aliens crossing the border. This prompted Republicans to introduce a bill in the House and Senate to prevent such a plan from ever being enacted.
Mayorkas’ behavior likely played a part in far-left Gov. Gavin Newsom’s plan to provide free healthcare to illegal immigrants in California, starting this year. This, despite the fact that the state faces a stunning $68 billion budget shortfall.
Even Democrats are questioning the Homeland Security secretary’s judgement. Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ), who is running for U.S. Senate this November, wrote to Mayorkas asking why Pima County—an area deeply affected by the border crisis—has been denied a requested extension to use millions of dollars in federal aid to alleviate the situation. Gallego called the decision “unacceptable,” as the county has seen their number of illegal encounters more than double in just one year.
Arizona has been one of the hardest hit states when it comes to illegal immigration, and things are only getting worse. Ironically, it was Arizona that became the first state to pass a law empowering local officials to deal with illegal immigration back in 2010. SB1070 was later challenged by the Obama Administration and struck down by the Supreme Court. Something the federal government is looking to repeat with Texas’ SB4 legislation. Even NBC News has cited how over 1,300 illegal aliens cross into Arizona on a daily basis, despite the dangers and record heat waves. Smugglers are taking advantage of our government’s lack of action, with their sights now set on the Tucson Sector of the border. Migrants from countries like China, Pakistan and Mauritania are using Arizona as a crossing point after seeing it publicized on social media.
“Right now, we are encountering people from all over the world,” Border Patrol Deputy Chief Justin De La Torre, of the Tucson Sector said. “It has been a real emergency here, a real trying situation.”
Just over one month ago, a breached section of the border wall at the Lukeville crossing in Arizona was used by thousands of illegal immigrants to enter the country. It strained local resources to the breaking point. The entry was eventually closed, only to be reopened again this month, showing how U.S. immigration policy has become the very definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result.
The Arizona Attorney General’s office did not reply to a Restoration News inquiry about instances of child trafficking, drug pushing and smuggling being ignored by the federal government, like the ones highlighted in Texas, or why Gov. Katie Hobbs (D) waited so long to send in the National Guard.
…Then Indict
Legislative action on the part of Republicans is a promising start. Yet despite all the evidence of Mayorkas’ incompetence and potential criminal activity, the last push to impeach him failed. The House majority talks tough one minute, then buckles the next. House Resolution 582, introduced by Republican Rep. Andy Biggs (AZ), was delayed in November 2023.
When the Left decided to destroy Donald Trump, it did everything in its power to prevent him from succeeding as commander-in-chief. First, it authorized government entities to spy on his presidential campaign. Then it worked with a biased media to spread a false narrative of Russia collusion. When that failed, a Democrat-led House impeached him, only for the Senate to acquit Trump on all charges.
When Congress couldn’t get the job done, activists looked to the court system and went after the 45th President’s legacy, business, associates, and even sought to take away his freedom.
Impeaching Mayorkas seems like a fair approach by comparison.
There’s only one option left to counter these political persecutions—and halt the collapse of Western civilization—if Congress fails in its duties: Go on the offensive and hold prominent leftists accountable in court.
Famed filmmaker and author Dinesh D’Souza articulated this during the premiere of his new film Police State, late last year in Las Vegas, while highlighting the current border crisis.
D’Souza was discussing the push to put Donald Trump behind bars and said Christians, concerned parents, and patriots are next on the chopping block. He then outlined a strategy that would stop the bleeding and restore the rule of law: Start indicting radical Democrats, beginning with Mayorkas.
In no way am I saying that we should, in all respects, exactly mirror the Left. . . But what I am saying is that in some cases if we respond in the tough way, they will learn their lesson . . .
Imagine right now if a major Democrat or a series of Democrats was indicted. Let’s say for example the attorney general of Texas—by the way I’m throwing out a major suggestion here—indicts [Sec. Alejandro] Mayorkas for child trafficking. There’s child trafficking going on in Texas, the government completely knows about it. They’re deliberately looking the other way. It’s a crime. Indict them. Indict nine other prominent Democrats on legitimate charges. The moment the Democrats are indicted . . . whenever it happens to them, they always rediscover the principle.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has already accused the Biden administration of “aiding and abetting” violent drug cartels, saying the goal is to allow these criminals to make “billions of dollars and to bring as many people here as fast as possible, and as soon as possible.
They’re not just not doing their job, they’re actually encouraging the opposite. . . There is no doubt that the cartels have been incentivized. They’re making billions of dollars. They make $8,000 to $12,000 a person that they bring, so they’re incentivized to bring as many people as possible.
Given Biden’s failure to act, Gov. Greg Abbott, AG Paxton, and the state legislature have tried to use their authority to arrest illegal immigrants in Texas. Yet each time they look to restore order, the Biden Justice Department interferes.
“They threaten us from enforcing our laws,” Paxton explained. “It seems pretty crazy, and it’s hard to believe that we have a government that is working against its own citizens and helping the cartels move as many people across the border as possible.”
During appearances on MSNBC and CNN this month, Mayorkas had the audacity to blame Gov. Abbott and the state of Texas for the southern border crisis, instead of taking responsibility and admitting his own utter failure:
Let me identify one fundamental problem here. And that is the fact that we have one governor, in the state of Texas, who is refusing to cooperate with other governors and other local officials and coordinate efforts to address a challenge that our country—which this country should stand united—to address, that our country is facing. And it’s a remarkable failure of governance to refuse to cooperate with ones fellow local and state officials.
It’s no secret Democrats hope to endow these millions of migrants with the power to vote, in hopes that they will be kept in office forever. The Left has already declared war on America’s way of life, freedom of speech, political dissent, and religion. If Republican lawmakers don’t act now, there will be nothing to stop this invasion of our country as it is overrun, and made unrecognizable in a matter of months.
We Need More Than Tough Talk
Paxton, Abbott and other officials in the state of Texas—in coordination with certain House Republicans—must conduct a full investigation into what Mayorkas and his team knew about smuggling, human trafficking, deadly drugs, murder and other unspeakable horrors visited upon the nation at our southern border. As well as crimes committed by illegal immigrants after they entered the United States. Once that information is gathered, they must file charges in state court and demonstrate how these threats were blatantly ignored in favor of political power.
This is not a move that should be taken lightly. Political escalation can easily spin out of control. But if action isn’t taken on something as simple as child trafficking—and an all-out invasion of our nation’s borders—then the country is already beyond saving. This attempt to hold anti-American “progressives” accountable would be crucified by the media. Democrats across the country would have public meltdowns. Even the idea of Trump returning to the White House has been framed as him taking “revenge.” Yet this is why our founders gave powers to the individuals states. To provide a counterweight against federal authorities, when the three branches of government fail to uphold their oaths to the Constitution.
We’ve reached an undeniable breaking point. The immigration crisis is so dire that even Democratic mayors in blue sanctuary cities are screaming for help from the Biden administration, while Mayorkas turns a blind eye. Congress has failed to check the power of the presidency and the Supreme Court has failed to act in any meaningfully way to course correct this run-away bureaucracy.
It’s finally time for state officials to act by bringing local charges against these power-drunk tyrants, who seem hellbent on running our nation into the ground. How long will it take before everyone’s backyard looks like the open southern border? And at that point, will we be powerless to stop it?
